David joined Teal Group full-time in July 1995, as lead analyst for the Military Electronics Briefing. For the two years prior to this he consulted part-time for Teal, while directing an independent NSERC (National Science and Engineering Research Council) research project at the University of Toronto. While at Toronto he also designed and developed specialized electronic test instruments and circuitry for various projects, including new tools for studying fluid flows in porous media.

Prior to his technical research with NSERC, David specialized in Soviet and European military affairs. He has published in the former Czechoslovakia, as well as in U.S. trade journals such as the Journal of Electronic Defense and Military Technology. He also handles electronics and avionics for Aviation Week & Space Technology's annual Aerospace Source Book.

David received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, Masters degrees from the University of Minnesota and the State University of New York at Albany, with his Bachelors also from Albany.
