Authored by Marco Caceres, Teal Group's World Space Systems Briefing is a monthly-updated information service consisting of reports that track the status and outlook of the world's space systems, spaceports and markets. Each program report includes information describing the space system, designating the agency responsible for development or operation of the system, an explanation of the various subsystems and the companies involved in supplying the components (primes as well as subcontractors), an overview giving a brief history and current status of the program, and, finally, a 10-year launch forecast is included, along with a "Teal Group Evaluation" of the program. The spaceport reports are structured similarly.
The reports are organized in sections by type (e.g., Launch Vehicles, Payloads) and within sections, alphabetically by system or facility. The World Space Systems Briefing covers a large portion of the world's space systems and launch facilities. The focus of the publication, however, is on active programs or those that are in their early planning or development stages. The underlying philosophy behind the reports is to target future business opportunities and not dwell too much on history. The World Space Systems Briefing is neither a "space directory" nor "space encyclopedia."
Each report is updated at least once per year. In addition, if a program is particularly active, the report may be updated numerous times during the course of the year. At the end of each report is the date that it was last updated.
The updated reports are mailed to you in 12 monthly supplements during a year-long subscription period. Each supplement is accompanied by an instruction sheet explaining what reports are included in the supplement and in which section of the binder each report belongs. When warranted, new reports will be added to the binder and reports for programs that have become inactive will be removed. You may wish to retain removed materials for later reference.
