Military Electronics Briefing

Authored by Dr. David Rockwell, Teal Group's Military Electronics Briefing is a monthly updated marketing information service reporting on the status and outlook of the major active US military electronics programs. The annual subscription includes a binder of reports on these programs, a year of monthly updates and free access to the analysts that research and edit the reports.

To be included in the binder, an electronics program must be either under development or in production for a US requirement, or in the active US military inventory and garnering significant upgrade or support funding. The number of reports that fall under these requirements and that, therefore, will be covered in a report in the binder will vary over time, but the total will be around 300.

Each program has an individual report that is periodically updated to reflect the most recent activities. Reports are added to the binder when new programs emerge; conversely, a program's report is removed when it is cancelled, production is completed or aftermarket funding (upgrade and support) dries up.

Each month you will receive a supplement of updated material. This may include reports, appendices or other sections of the binder. An instruction letter is included with each supplement indicating where the new material should be put in the binder.

You may find it helpful to retain much of the material that is removed from the binder in a separate area. This includes reports on programs being removed from the binder and outdated appendixes.

An important part of the service is the ability to talk directly with the analysts that research and write the reports in the Military Electronics Briefing binder. We call this the "Free Right of Inquiry." If you have a question on any aspect of a program covered in the service, simply call the number shown on the title page of the binder. You then can consult with the analyst(s) for a reasonable amount of time at no charge. If the question will take a considerable amount of time to answer (more than an hour of research),  a consulting fee will be charged.
